Pathology – Medical Director, Molecular Pathology Section

The USC Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine invites applicants for the faculty position of director of Molecular Pathology at Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital.

The successful applicant will have an extensive track record in clinical molecular diagnostics, preferably with experience in an academic pathology department. Applicants should have demonstrated ability to oversee new test development, to interact with clinicians in a tertiary/quaternary medical center environment, and fulfill the requirements of the medical director. The appointee will guide the clinical, training, and research missions of the Molecular Pathology Section. Individuals with extramurally-funded research programs are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be board certified in pathology and must hold or be eligible for a California medical license.  It is anticipated that this appointment will be at the associate or full professor level in the tenure track or clinical professorial series.

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is staffed by 82 faculty who serve the educational, clinical, and research mission of the Keck School of Medicine. Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital are major facilities within the USC academic health system. The Department of Pathology & Lab Medicine provides all diagnostic services that support tertiary/quaternary inpatient services. Major clinical programs include those of the NCI-designated USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center (hematologic malignancies, urologic, breast, and colon cancer), transplant programs that include liver, heart and lung, and growing programs in neuro-oncology, women’s health, cardiology, immunology, and infectious diseases.
